A little bit of a personal post. I feel like I’ve gone through a lot of changes this summer. I started my journey as a professional photographer nearly 14 years ago. In that time, I’ve worked, I’ve cried, I’ve gotten married, built my dream house, watched my mom survive a terminal cancer diagnosis and somehow pulled my business through the pandemic. Through it all - my focus has been on everybody else. I would very much neglect my own body and watched as my weight kept going up. It was just SO much easier to keep the focus off of myself. I never felt judged by my friends or family - but I was starting to have an unhealthy fixation on it myself. So in June, I made the decision to have weight loss surgery after years of discussion and research. I put my faith in the @bodybybariatrics team. Dr. Dovec and her team have been so supportive and I’m down almost 50 lbs in the last 2 months. This has been the first time in more than 14 years I’ve prioritized myself. And although I’ve slacked a little with social media during that time, just know that I’m still here - happier than ever - and still grateful for every single couple who trusts me with their wedding day! I’ve really hesitated in sharing this - as not many people know I had surgery. I definitely don’t want my weight (and surgery) to become my identity. But I’m also ready to share a little more from my personal world. Super grateful for my friends and family who have supported me through this journey!
