💥sound up💥 After I had finished unloading a small marlin and a couple of mahi from my Icey-Tek, it was time to load the boat on the trailer and head home.. but that day was just too nice to be off the water. So I called my wife to pack the kids up and come down to the harbour so we could head out on a quick afternoon cruise. Of course, there would be more room if I left the gear at the truck... but I just couldn't do it. With some happy kids, we left the wharf for a relaxing family boat ride. After a few minutes, we noticed that someone else also appreciated the weather and was sunbathing on the surface of the water - it was a marlin. Well... I couldn't help myself. 😅 To the bemusement of my wife and questioning faces of our kids, I chucked a line out the back. It didn't take long, and we were hooked up. The fish settled down, and after a half hour of excitement for the kids, I offloaded the rod onto a mate's boat. For safety reasons, I didn't want a big angry blue next to my boat with my two young kids on board. The 200kg+ blue actually ended up dying during the fight. We hauled her onboard and headed for home!
