Sometimes I wish I could tell people the worst parts of me so they could stop feeling so alone. Sometimes I wish I could tell people how lazy I can be so they could stop beating themselves up for not “hustling” every second of every day. Sometimes I wish I could tell people how much I sometimes hate running so they could stop thinking they have to love it to do it. Sometimes I wish I could tell people how jealous I can be so they could stop shaming themselves for not having enough confidence. Sometimes I wish I could tell people how impatient I can be with my kids so they could stop having mom/dad guilt about how they handle certain situations. Sometimes I wish I could tell people how sensitive I can be so they could stop believing they should be impenetrable. Sometimes I wish I could tell people how hard life feels for me sometimes so they could stop feeling like they’re the only one who is “acting ungrateful for all the beauty in life” Social media is a trap. It makes us believe there are all these perfect humans out there who are constantly functioning at an extremely high level. They function at high levels of fitness, high levels of career building, high levels of relationships, high levels of motivation and high levels of mental toughness. Non. Stop. If you’re anything like me, you don’t function at a high level all the time. There may even be some weeks where you don’t even function at 50%! So, instead of wishing I could tell people things, I’ll just come out and say that we’re all human. And that means that we all excel sometimes, and we all suck sometimes.
