Our primary teacher, Andy Ashton, created a Tiny House Project along with our Grade 5 students last year. They had a thrilling and fascinating experience, from designing the tiny house plans to meeting with experts for advice on how and what to build. This project taught them about critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication, and integrated subjects of literacy, science, sustainable engineering, and much more. The project is continuing, and Pak Andy has a bigger vision to build this tiny house and use it as an income stream for farmers, while preserving the green space of Bali. Farmers could use just a small fraction of their ancestral land to make a passive income, while continuing to have their land for farming use.
