Check out our ambassador American Kestrels, Topa and Ash’s fresh new tail feathers💅🪶✨ After their first year, American Kestrels go through one complete annual molt, where they will replace old feathers with new ones. The cycle typically starts in the Summer and is completed in the Fall. American Kestrels’ tails molt in a predictable pattern, starting with the center tail feathers (rectrices) and continuing from both directions outwards.
