It’s been fun having fun in training again. It’s been fulfilling lifting 3x a week consistently again. Balanced out with coaching and working in cannabis I feel like I’ve been working in a really good flow state. That’s the sweet spot right? A flow state… I feel like there are phases throughout the year where I feel so good in my routine, everything seems to line up and work out almost perfectly. Then there are phases where I feel nothing is going smooth, Im lost, I feel like a mess, I’m in my head, my efforts for consistency feel like failures.. it’s in those very moments that I still must practice giving myself -Grace -Patience -LOVE and take a step back to find my breath…everything is going to be ok. Here’s the thing, nothing can go smooth all the time. On top of that you can’t ever truly eliminate ALL STRESS and you shouldn’t aim for that either. Why? Bc these phases where nothing seems to be going “my way” are necessary to learn how to handle and deal with stresses that LIFE just hands you. It’s an opportunity for growth and maybe even a necessary change. Stress is what WE NEED as humans at our most primal level to actually thrive. Ive known people who give up, quit, or resist anything that even MIGHT cause them stress. They only want to feel good and feel comfortable ALL THE TIME. There’s nothing wrong with seeking comfort. It’s a beautiful pleasure of life to relax and enjoy comfort. But if we are only comfortable and feeling good, we are not growing. When we are stressed we have a couple choices…run away and avoid…deal with it and evolve. My favorite is to have a little cry, scream in a pillow and then face whatever it is head on. One of the many (many) reasons I train, I am constantly being put under stress. That stress is good for me. At one time in my life, used to be so afraid of my own anxiety, I was afraid to be stressed bc I didn’t believe I could handle it. I show myself everyday how strong and resilient I am. I take this lesson with me off the mats into my everyday life. How do you deal with stress? Do you agree or disagree?
