⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Under the Influence by Noelle Crooks This book had me at Nashville and “giRl bOsS bAbE” influencer exposé. And Noelle Crooks knows a thing or two about dealing with those sorts because she used to work for Rachel Hollis of “Girl Go Wash Your Nasty Face” or whatever the heck it’s called. Just type in both of their names and have a fun lil Google dive. Harper feels like she’s at a dead end in her life in NYC until she responds to an exciting job listing. Next think you know she’s being whisked to Nashville to be a part of self-help mega-influencer, Charlotte Green’s communications team. It’s sink or swim and Harper finds herself working nonstop in a work environment that love bombs, tears down, and then gaslights you. At first Harper sips the Koolaid but then she slowly realizes that things aren’t what they seem. I couldn’t put this one down. It’s fast-paced and just so readable. I couldn’t wait to see what ridiculous thing Charlotte would do next. And she just keep ‘em coming. I’m seeing Devil Wears Prada comparisons and I get where they’re coming from but at least Miranda had an actual product, something to market.
