September is Childhood Cancer Awareness month🎗️ . Before Carlos was diagnosed we were not a cancer family, and little did we know about it. We had no idea what the journey would entail. We couldn’t believe our fourteen month old had cancer and we never even imagined that their would be no cure. Kids like Carlos don’t have a fighting chance at overcoming this disease. It’s inconceivable to think that there’s still no cure for many childhood cancers and despite the efforts of so many the treatments are still brutal. . Why do we keep raising our voices and creating awareness? Why do we rally to raise funds for research? Why do we join efforts to help families going through this? Because despite what we may think, Childhood Cancer is severely underfunded. Cancer is still a leading cause of death for children and adolescents in the world. . What can you do to join the fight? Reach out to the families, see how you can help, offer moral and emotional support. . Show your support and donate to any of the many foundations that support pediatric cancer research and cancer families. . Find a blood drive near you, donate blood and help save lives. . The odds are still not favorable for many kids and the reality of what we know as pediatric cancer is so far from what we imagine.
