Happy September and #flowercrownfriday _ September tries it’s best to have us forget about Summer but we aren’t quite there yet. With everything happening so sudden, we haven’t had much time to go to Z’s grandmas and let him swim. I’m hoping tomorrow that’ll change and he can still get a couple of good swims in before the pool is officially closed. _ I will not stop him from doing his favorite thing because of CHF. It’s unfair to him to take away the one thing he loves doing most. I will monitor him more closely then I already do, but so help me I will not take swimming away from him. _ Just to share a story.. I remember the doctor telling me (Zeus’ mom) after seeing how badly I hurt my back when I was thrown off a horse, into a fence and then nearly trampled (I was 14 at the time) that my equestrian days were over. I was devastated. I let my back heal and did I stop riding? Nope. Imagine if I listened to that doctor? Long story short I knew what I was capable of doing. I never competed or anything like that but I did ride at camp for many more years and after people told me I would never advance.. I made it into the advanced ring for jumping. Now, I haven’t ridden in years but I do love to go trail riding. Once you love horses, it’s not something that just goes away. Same goes for Z, his love for swimming will never go away. _ It’s been a dream of mine since I was 5 years old to own a horse. One day I will, whatever it takes. I even have a name picked out after one of my favorite retired race horses I used to ride at camp. His name was Royal Prospect. _ I find that a lot of dog mom people on here are actually horse people too.
