🦊 Since 2005, the Fjällräven Classic has drawn thousands of hikers to Swedish Lapland for a 110-kilometer group trek along the Dag Hammarskjöld Trail past steep peaks, glacial lakes, and mushroom-studded tundra. This year, Fjällräven invited Backpacker’s Executive Editor Adam Roy to join them. We’re sharing some of his photos this week. 🦊 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐅𝐈𝐍𝐈𝐒𝐇 The end of the Fjällräven Classic felt like the beginning in reverse. As we descended from the mountains, the rocky tundra gave way to scattered trees, then a thick birch forest. Just outside the village of Abisko, we stopped by Abiskojökka, a river that thundered through a steep, rocky gorge, and spent a few minutes taking it in. When we crossed the finish line to cheers from trekkers who had arrived earlier, we were sore, mosquito-bitten, blistered—and very, very happy. #fjallraven #fjallravenclassic #backpacker #sweden #abisko #abiskojökka Photos: @adnroy
