We started as 16 total strangers….. more importantly, WE LEFT with 16 NEW IMPRESSIONS. . Coming into last week, many of us were total strangers, literally flying across the country on blind faith, hoping that what we knew from a screen, would meet our expectations in real life. . I mean think about it, we “see” things through a lens as our reality all the time, but do we really act on a lot of it?? Maybe. Maybe not. I think we tend to Dream more… . Take Bali for example. All we really know of this place, probably came as an image through some digital portal. But it landed as a “ one day “ dream that many of us HOPE to become our reality. . I just have to give so much credit to these people that trusted me through a screen. Most of them came alone on a vision they created in their mind of an experience of a lifetime. They flew 21+ hours to live out this dream by means of a yoga retreat. Many not knowing exactly what it entailed. . I laugh when I think of the number one question/topic day 1, “where’s the chicken” haha . But for real. Each person brought who they were into this experience. We all learned to be more open minded with each others needs and desires, we very quickly learned the differences in how we communicate, & I know at some point, every one stepped out of their comfort zone; Some having little to no experience with yoga. Some not knowing if we’d survive on veggies and fish, some of us not sure of a “group” setting all the time.. I mean the Rona changed things y’all. . But with each persons desire to use the time to experience growth, we all took a little something away. . That’s why I chose the word impression over friend. . I think we all leave impressions daily on people whether or not we have the time to develop relationships into friendships or not, HOW DO YOU LEAVE SOMEONE you encounter? Do you stop to think how it could have an effect on them?
