I always knew this day was coming, but I feel as if an era and chapter has ended for me. I’ve had some time to think and reflect on what Cassandra means to me and so this decision has been difficult for me accept. But I know she’s telling me she can’t continue her sport career any longer. She is healthy and sound, but I cannot keep her comfortable enough to jump and for her to enjoy the job like she used to. Our team has decided to retire Cassandra so she can live the life a princess always deserves. I’m so thankful to have an animal like this in my life, and although we don’t speak the same language, she’s always been the closest being to me. She’s been with me through life milestones and taken me all over the world, giving me opportunities I wouldn’t have thought possible without her. There will never be another one like her ❤️ Thank you to everyone who has been a part of her journey, small or big, near or far: my family, Johanna Mattila, Dr Cristiano Pasquini, Dr Anthony Fürst, Dr Tiffany Marr, Thomas Geiger, Lauren Hough, Henk Nooren, Malin Saaf, Michael Whitaker, Ashford Farm, Claudia Harrison Guess, Sarah Moore, Julie Lane, Steve Guerdat, Heidi Mulari, and many others who understood what a special horse she is. I’m looking forward to her next chapter, I know she will be happier in her field, and hopefully we can have some little princesses down the road… Thank you Cassandra for changing my life for the better.
