Happy Monday! Happy Labor Day in the US! It’s a federal holiday here to recognize & honor the labor movement. Time to relax and enjoy as summer comes to a close and autumn sets in. Last week, the Infinity Pool: Uncut Steelbook (4K UHD Blu-ray) came out and it is packed with lots of extras including a full director/writer’s commentary (Brandon Cronenberg along with his cinematographer Karim Hussain and producer/First AD Rob Cotterill) of the film. They give lots of inside info on how they shot the film. For a film buff, the extras are extensive & plentiful. As an Alex fan, the extras are a little too light. He is in the Rotten Tomatoes Sundance interview with Mia Goth that they included here and “The Making of Infinity Pool” (no interview with him though, just Brandon & Mia). Of course he is in the movie and it’s gorgeous to se him in UHD. (Warning though: you need a 4K Blu-ray player to watch the disc.) They do talk a little about Alex during the commentary. One favorite quote from them about Alex was in regards to him getting covered in goo in one of the big action scenes. It would take too long for them to clean him up to do another take, so Alex just jumped in the sea to clean himself up and was right back at it.
