I have been mistaken all of these years. There is a god, after all. I have encountered him, and he spoke to me. Uli. Once again, profound gratitude to our mutual concert agent, Jörg Düsedau, for making it possible that I was granted to meet the phenomenal Uli Jon Roth again, with just a tiny bit more time than in the past. Uli played Time To Rock festival in Knislinge, Sweden, on the same day Triptykon performed as part of the festival's Tom Gabriel Warrior Trilogy. Purchasing the Scorpions' staggeringly brilliant Tokyo Tapes live album in 1978 was my first encounter with Uli's playing, causing me to eagerly explore the remaining albums of the Scorpions' still unparalleled Roth era as well as the releases of his subsequent Electric Sun project.
