DIY Laundry Detergent With only 6 ingredients (5 if you go unscented) this is an easy and affordable alternative to chemical laden commercial detergents. Here’s how to make it: RECIPE: -1480 grams or 6 Cups of Distilled Water (avoid using tap water) -150 grams or 1/2 Cup Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate -150 grams or 1/2 Cup Decyl Glucoside -30 grams or 2 Tablespoons Cocamidopropyl Betaine -20 grams or 1 1/2 Tablespoons Sodium Lactate (Could sub salt for this ingredient) -20 grams or 1 1/2 Tablespoons Preservative -30 grams or 2 Tablespoons of Essential Oil/s of your choice (optional) Preparation: 1. When handling Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate, please wear a mask. Its particles are very fine and can cause coughing and nose irritation. In a spouted bowl, carefully pour in Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate. 2. Add in your Decyl Glucoside, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, and Sodium Lactate (or salt). 3. Mix well until the consistency is that of brownie batter. 4. Add water and mix again. You can mix by hand, use an immersion blender, or a hand mixer. 5. Add your preservative and any essential oils if you decided to use any. 6. Transfer detergent to a leak proof container and be sure to label it. 7. Your done!
