For many years, when I was still in active alcoholism, every day felt like groundhog day. Even though I kept a fulltime job teaching art to students and while I loved seeing them grow in their own artistic journeys, my own dreams fell by the wayside. It's only once I started recovering from alcoholism that the fog lifted and I remembered my own dreams of becoming a full-time artist. The picture became clearer and I wanted to pursue it. I was in unfamiliar waters. I had a meeting with myself to come up with a strategy to figure out the steps I needed to take to make my own dreams a reality. I believe this was the key.
