DIY Details Below 👇🏻 I’m so excited to be this week’s At Home Collective feature and since this little kitchen corner earned it, I thought I’d share the star of the show! I’ve had my eye on a checkered cutting board for a while but thought I’d give it a go at a $5 DIY before spending $100 on one! And you can get everything you need at the Dollar Tree- cutting board, painters tape & brown paint! Use painters tape to make a grid on your board (you’ll get the cleanest lines if you really press down the tape). Then use a dark brown paint (I used one from the craft aisle) & go over the open squares. Once those squares are dry, retape the board to cover the squares you painted (ie. shift the grid) & paint a second time to complete the checkered look! Tip: you can either 1) tape around the edge if you don’t want it painted, 2) wrap the tape around the back to give the edge a checkered look or 3) just paint all around the edge (which is what I did)!
