Here is the complete rule written more formally: • If a verb ends in a voiceless consonant (such as /p/, /t/, /k/, /f/, /θ/, /s/, /ʃ/, or /ʧ/), the “-ed” ending is pronounced with a “t” sound. (In the video I left off 2 sounds). Here’s a list of past participles ending in -ED, which take a T sound that you can practice. 1. Asked (from “ask”) 2. Brushed (from “brush”) 3. Cooked (from “cook”) 4. Dripped (from “drip”) 5. Flipped (from “flip”) 6. Hitched (from “hitch”) 7. Laughed (from “laugh”) 8. Packed (from “pack”) 9. Washed (from “wash”) 10. Watched (from “watch”) 11. Kissed (from “kiss”) 12. Kicked (from “kick”) 13. Missed (from “miss”) 14. Picked (from “pick”) 15. Plucked (from “pluck”) 16. Slipped (from “slip”) 17. Talked (from “talk”) 18. Touched (from “touch”) 19. Walked (from “walk”) 20. Wished (from “wish”) All other sound endings require a D sound. #EnglishLearning#ESL #Language #GrammarTips #vocabulary
