🌟Are you like me and suffer huge self-consciousness when you’re speaking on screen? Do you lose focus easily, get tongue-tied and forget what you’re saying (that menopausal brain fog, right?!) then have to re-record? I feel your pain! I often get asked how I can speak on screen, and it’s been hard but I’m getting there. So how did I get better? Here are my tips! ✅Practice is key (you knew I’d say that didn’t you?) Several runs at it makes it trip off your tongue more easily. Calm breathing beforehand also helps. ✅Ditch perfectionism. Don’t over focus on your tiny mistakes - no one will mind and in fact these moments are the best for creating a personal touch. ✅Try to ‘fail forwards’ by analysing where you’re going wrong and making small corrections each time. ✅Keep going! Don’t give up on yourself - you have the skills! ✅Plan more - I write out my script or bullet points so I don’t waffle (I’m a terrific waffler) ✅Tell yourself you’ll be amazing and you’ve ‘got this’. Affirmations beforehand really help set your mind to achieve a positive outcome. ✅The biggest lesson is learning to not worry what others think. Some will like it, some will hate it and the rest won’t care.
