Owning a business has its ups and downs but the community that gets created around a business is one of the most fulfilling parts. Lauren, Marques (sadly not in this picture) and their sons Jack & Christopher have been coming to MarieBette for a very long time. Their kindness and consistent presence stood out to us and our staff early on. We knew their order before they had to say it. We watched their wonderful kids grow. We witnessed their triumphs and challenges and they got to know our staff on a personal basis. During the pandemic they gave us extra support and checked in to make sure all of us were ok. They were like family. Last year the family dealt with a tragedy that changed their lives. We were honored to provide a small sense of support to them while they dealt with it. The connection we made with them through being in business is a beautiful thing. Sadly for everyone in this town, this year they moved from Charlottesville to PA. We are grateful for the time we got to spend with them while they were here. And I am grateful for the community that comes with having a restaurant in Charlottesville and how it was the reason I was able to meet and connect with this beautiful family. We are thankful for our customers who make our business a part of their lives.
