A taste of what’s to come later today when @thearmoryshow in New York opens for VIP previews – ‘Mamkwayi’, a 2m-high bronze totem by @zizipo_poswa, will feature on Southern Guild’s booth in the main section of the fair. Poswa will also exhibit selected ceramic and bronze sculptures from her ‘uBuhle boKhokho’ series, alongside works by painters @kamyar_bineshtarigh (Iran/South Africa) and @manyaku_mash (South Africa) and conceptual artist @olu.seye (Nigeria/Canada). This is the first year Southern Guild has exhibited at The Armory Show. In addition to its presentation at the fair, the gallery is showing a large-scale bronze by Poswa at the @usta Billie Jean King National Tennis Center as part of the Armory Off-Site at the US Open @usopen.
