Can't believe it's been over a year since I completed my Masters. It was a dream I had nurtured for years. I knew I wanted to study sports 🏃‍♀️, and I knew I wanted to do it at the best university, if at all. From being unable to start in 2020 due to COVID to my application initially getting rejected in 2021 and then the massive fight to get the funds together, it was a huge struggle, and it took every bit of energy in me to not drop it. Leaving my career and everything familiar behind was a massive step and a change that I am still adapting to. But it couldn't have had a better ending. Putting myself back in studies after a decade, I wouldn't have imagined finishing on top of the course, leaving with not just the degree but academic awards🏅. My Master's thesis exploring 'women's gendered experiences in Climbing' is very close to my heart, and I am still trying to make something big of it. But to be given a Best Research Award at a University known for its research in the world of sports is a massive achievement for me personally (that I took over a year to celebrate🙄).
