✨PELVIC FLOOR SNACKING! This is an unplanned post (which has soaked up my day!) but had to share as it’s so important and thrilled to be able to talk to my 75 year old Mother in Law so openly about pelvic floor health after today’s Live workout. ✨Do you leak a little urine when you sneeze, laugh, or cough or do exercises like star jumps? Do you feel the need to frequently? Do you often need to urgently go for a wee? Are you waking up in the night a few times to go to the loo? 💕You’re not alone. Pelvic floor exercises are a must for everyone MEN and WOMEN daily to help strengthen your pelvic floor muscles, to help urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse. 🙏🏼I’m really saddened to see the impact of this with my 3 parents and it really can affect our quality of life as we age. The pelvic floor muscles are a supportive sheet of muscles stretching from the tail bone to the pubic bone at the front. ✨These are key as we age and issues can arise commonly after childbirth and through menopause as oestrogen levels drop at the time of the perimenopause and menopause. This is a topic I don’t think we all talk about enough but I’ve been sharing in my free Friday Feel Good Workouts with all ages (saved on my YouTube.) The feedback talking to my participants on Zoom after was so amazing that I had to film this impromptu conversation. ✨I went with Mummy for a pelvic floor examination this week and we share some of the experience and our ‘private’ blueberry joke – I hope these are useful tips and I’m not an expert so would love to hear yours too. It made me realise that I may not have been doing them as efficiently as I should and it can be hard to get proper engagement.
