While herping in the Thar Desert in Rajasthan, we came across a few wells with animals trapped inside. Once we realized this was a common occurrence, we put the word out to the locals to inform us about trapped animals. We spent a few days just driving from well to well removing trapped animals. We found several monitor lizards including both Desert and Bengal Monitors as well as several snakes.
