I re-read two of my favorite book series by Karin Slaughter ( @karinslaughterauthor ), Grant County and Will Trent. I embarked on this re-read in anticipation of the latest installment in the Will Trent series, AFTER THAT NIGHT which celebrated its book birthday on 8/22/23. ⁣ ⁣ Friends, it was totally worth the wait! ⁣ ⁣ I will keep this review relatively vague because I don’t want to ruin it for those of you who have not yet read a book in the Will Trent series. (What are you waiting for?!? 😉)⁣ ⁣ The Will Trent series is fascinatingly unique in that it is what I consider to be “crime fiction +”. This series is so much more than capturing the proverbial bad guy. There is a thrilling psychological aspect to every story. With each book, we are privy to how the main characters evolve in both their professional and private lives. The impeccable pacing of each story keeps you on the edge of your seat. ⁣ ⁣ In AFTER THAT NIGHT a horrifying tragedy from 15 years ago is brought full circle in the present day. Questions that have been haunting the remarkable Dr. Sara Linton are finally answered.
