Happy Meme Friday bbs ☕️🍁❄️ I’ve been doing my annual rewatch of #GilmoreGirls and this year the fatphobia has stuck out way more than usual. It’s got me wondering: how do you deal with fatphobia in TV shows that you love? 💚 This show is so warm and fuzzy and so good to throw on in the background. I love these characters and some new reference always makes me laugh. Sometimes I can ignore or block out the fatphobia, but sometimes that feels impossible or like the wrong thing to do. 💚 Gilmore Girls or Friends or New Girl are done and it doesn’t really make sense to dwell on their content. I could easily stop watching these shows and move on. But these classical cultural comfort-watches get to be enjoyed by so many people and i want to be able to enjoy them as well without feeling attacked or berated or mocked…so I’m curious if the fatphobia ever gets in the way of your enjoyment on a rewatch 💚 In the meantime I’ll be busy watching Jess loudly ask Rory why on Earth she dropped out of Yale. 💚 #gilmoregirlsmemes #rorygilmore #lorelaigilmore #bodypositivememes #bodypositivity #fatliberation #plussizefashion
