#BackToKorea 🇰🇷 this time as exhibitor with @swivelgallery and “TRACES” at KIAF Seoul ( Booth G24) featuring works by Ivana Štulić, ceramics by Krista Louise Smith, and installations by Kajin Kim. Another day is gone here at the fair. Thank you for the warm welcome and genuine interest in the artists’ works we were presenting. Find us at @kiaf_official booth G24! 👀 In “Traces,” material objects and the ethereal qualities of light serve as vessels for memory, creating a negative space that evokes imagery and sensations that have slipped into the past. Ivana Štulić 's tranquil oil paintings move sequentially throughout the booth, operating within the confines of a single day, while Krista Louise Smith's sculptures similarly toy with enigma by evoking otherworldly evidence, presenting bones and skeletal fragments arranged in impossible configurations. Kajin Kim ties them together with translucent silicone constructions, which utilize light to beckon our gaze towards something hidden just beneath the surface of the membrane–charging the space between itself and the viewer with uncertainty and longing. Together, these artists skillfully navigate the boundaries of presence and absence, finding an enduring resonance in the medial dimension.
