How about some serious #Straturday mojo, 50-style? 1956 #Fender #Stratocaster in a heavily worn factory refin red, photographed last weekend at @dlott65's #UnionSound23 guitar gathering, hosted by @chriswstringer8. As a lover of vintage guitars, I am definitely fascinated by any instrument that has survived for 50, 60, 70 (or more...) years and remained in absolutely pristine condition. But as a photographer of vintage guitars I find the ones that got played, with plenty of scars to show for it, make for much more interesting pictures! 😉 The owner of this #Strat isn't 100% certain what specific version of red this finish was when it was originally sprayed back in 1960, but over the last 63 years it has been worn through and faded (and, I am guessing, been exposed to the smoke of roughly a million cigarettes! 😂) into something that, to my eye, resembles a mottled version of the Candy Tangerine finish seen on more recent Fender instruments.
