I am so so so glad I did. This book had me from page one. I want to run and buy every single book she has every written now! Emery lost her husband suddenly and tragically when she’s only 27 years old. Three years later, she still grieving, stuck in the past. Emery decides to move a few hours away to get a fresh start. Addison, her 17 year old niece has really been struggling, so she offers to let her move with her, so they both could get a fresh start. As soon as Addison starts school she joins the cheerleading team and falls instantly in love with the football assistant coach, Mason. Mason is a senior, but he’s 19 because of things in his past, he had to be held back. Addison introduces Emery to Mason at a football game, and the draw between them is instant, and palpable. Emery tried to fight her draw to Mason. He’s her nieces crush, and a high school senior. They know they’re in for a challenge just because of their circumstances, but when reality catches up, it shows them, how the heart breaks….. I ugly cried quite a few times while reading this book. I felt so connected to Emery, I felt her sorrow, joy, pain, and heart breaking. I found myself screaming at both Mason and Emery at times for their stubbornness. I was completely wrapped up in their story. Also, there’s a character named Marcie, and she’s hilarious. I may be biased because my name is Marcy, but I don’t think so 😏😂 I seriously can’t recommend this book enough!
