The gorgeous Merkisayre Jo the Shetland pony insisting she had a close up from cameraman Ross of @mac_television 😍🐴. This was taken last year when we were on the Isle of Skye after filming Highland ponies on the Isle of Rum. The documentary is called Each nan Eilean: Scotland’s Native Horses and aired on Boxing Day last year on @bbc.alba 😄🐴 The Shetland pony was developed in the Shetland Isles as a crofters pony in the very challenging environment. They are extremely strong for their size - in fact they are the strongest horse in relation to their size - they can pull nearly twice their own weight!
