Sexual harassment puts victims in an impossible position: They have to choose between enduring the abuse or risking their job by reporting. Being afraid to report is normal, but you can’t get help if you’re silent. Reporting the harassment helps in a few ways: 1. It puts the company on notice that you need help, giving them a chance to do the right thing. 2. It helps prove your case to get financial compensation if the company ignores you or retaliates. 3. It exposes the harassers abuse to help prevent others from becoming victims too. Silence is an understandable response to harassment at work, but silence can’t get you compensated nor can it stop the harassment. . .
