Coffee Chiffon Cake + a celebration for @suezelickson! Sue has been my mentor, a friend, and a shining example of power and grace. Sue has touched so many people and this party was my way of saying THANK YOU! We love you Sue! ♥️😘 Today's episode of Zoë Bakes on @magnolianetwork (1 ET/noon CT). Also streamjng on @streamonmax & @discoveryplus. After attending a Paris-inspired party thrown by @brookefaudree, I enlisted her to help me with Sue’s soiree. Brooke reminds me of myself when I first met Sue, almost 30 years ago. She is such a talented chef and creates a magical experience for her guests. When I decided to throw Sue a party in the street outside my house, I knew Brooke would help me create something elegant and memorable. It was all I had hoped for and more. The guests were women touched by Sue in their careers and @womenwhoreallycook, a group Sue started decades ago. The cake had to match the occasion, so I made Sue’s favorite, a Coffee Crunch Cake from Blum’s in San Francisco. In typical Sue fashion she sent me a similar cake from @valerieconfctns in LA, since Blum’s closed. I borrowed the flavors (Coffee Chiffon, Honeycomb and Coffee Cream) but took liberties so I could create a tiered cake as the centerpiece of our party. Sue wanted pink, not just pink, but HOT PINK! That’s exactly what we gave her. 🩷 🌸 @robinrossfarm, one of the guests and also my neighbor, brought gorgeous flower arrangements from her flower farm.
