Exactly a year ago, September 10th 2022, we were walking the streets of Manhattan after a long flight from Berlin. We walked until about 2 in the morning, all the while little did we know that our hotel room on the 38th floor in room 33, would be the setting for one of the most meaningful moments in both our lives. With the Manhattan skyline as our backdrop, and a journey ahead of us to move my mom out of my childhood home in East Hampton and close one chapter, Burak proposed and opened another. We co-created a new life together as family, as life partners, embarking on the many next chapters that will fill our lives, intertwined as one. Lifting each other to new heights, helping one another heal and grow, and making each other the best versions of one another possible. Less than a year later, this past May, we wed in the magically romantic Danish Island Ærø, and ours eyes filled with tears of joy today looking back on all we have accomplished and experienced in just one year, side by side.
