Luka Vuskovic- the kid that is on the verge of signing for Tottenham at just 16 years of age. Who is he and why are we signing him is a question you may be asking to yourself? Well, go put it simply, it’s a signing for the future. Luka isn’t expected to officially wear Lilywhite until 2025, when he turns 18. A time for him to progress even more 👀 At just 15, Vuskovic was labelled as the best player in the world for his age. That’s some feat! The most sought after talent in football at that age, and little old Tottenham Hotspur have managed to reel him in. You have to admit, that’s exciting. Manchester City, Real Madrid, PSG, Chelsea… you name the club and they will have had Vuskovic on their transfer targets list. Why? Well, what can’t the kid do? His ceiling is as high as he wants it to be and as far as he wants to go in the game. From centre-back, he can do it all. Obviously, being 6’4, his heading ability is second-to-none. His only goal in 11 first-team appearances was a header. We know that is important in England, to be physically strong. What is also important is your talent, on the ball. He has that in abundance. He has the Alderweireld esque ping in his locker, he’s comfortable bringing out into midfield and he can most definitely pick a pass. Funnily enough, Luka has some sort of sixth sense for scoring a half-way line goal. A few times in his youth career has he managed to lob the keeper from the half-way line and beyond, who wouldn’t love to see that at Tottenham? 🎯 He also has the abilities that a strong and physical centre-back should have. He is super strong in the tackle and not afraid to back out of 50/50’s. There’s aspects in his game that you can see of van de Ven with the slide tackles and heading ability, and Romero too, with his aggressiveness and will to fly into tackles. The kid was a Croatian U19 international at 15-years-old! With that, there is some mistakes in there but that comes with his age.
