1. I became so very not-sorry. I wasn’t sorry for not being available. I wasn’t sorry for cancelling. I wasn’t sorry for speaking up when someone hurt me. Or when I needed something. I wasn’t sorry for putting up boundaries. Did it cause problems? Oh yes it did. But was I sorry for that? Again, no. What it was was self preservation — I was wounded animal backed into a corner. Hank died but I didn’t die and my people needed me. I needed me. I was trying to survive. 4 years into this, I don’t feel good about the times I hurt people but I’m still not sorry because I did it to save myself. And I needed to have that fight in me.
