BEAR FRUIT is an idiom, and, despite being figurative language, its register is formal, according to the Cambridge Dictionary. This means that, YES, it’s okay to use it in writing. It’s also okay to use it in speaking, why not? The word “fruit” has a C2 meaning when it refers to the pleasant or successful result of work or action. ;-) Keep in mind that people don’t bear fruit; actions bear fruit. When I look backwards and think about how I started here on Instagram, sometimes I simply can’;t believe all my efforts seem to be bearing fruit. Nothing is guaranteed, and I don;t dare to take this for granted, but it feels good to think that I’ve made a name for myself. Thank you all for the support.
