On this day seven years ago, I was working on my very first cross stitch (pattern from the original @subversivecrossstitch book)! I was going through a super awful divorce, and a friend offered to teach me some crafts to help with mindfulness. I said I wanted to learn how to cross stitch, but only swear words. Little did I know how much of an impact this new skill would have on my life. 🖤 I never had the intention of selling patterns or finished pieces. I actually didn’t know that was an option. I created a separate Instagram for my cross stitching so I could log all my project photos (at the time, I was giving them all away to friends and family). People started following me and asking if I sold patterns or pieces, and for a long time I said no. And then one day, I stopped saying no.
