In no way is this post attempting to criticize the officers. It is simply to point out that meaningful, field relevant drills must be included in police firearms training. The primary officers interaction with the gun clearly demonstrates uncharted territory when it comes to speed and mechanics. This is the byproduct of qualifications that solely measure outcome void of any exigency, speed or need for effective mechanics . For those of you watching this video that train regularly, I’ll ask you….. Based on your level of skill and considering you were put in this situation, do think the stress would cause you to interact with the gun in this fashion?
