"Drought conditions in BC are serious, and many communities and farmers are seeing the impacts first-hand. It's important that we all do our part to conserve water. Every small change we make can add up to bigger and long-term changes. Learning how you're using water can guide you on where you can cut back. For businesses, make sure you're using water appropriately and conserve where you can. For example, if you're running half-loads of dishes, wait until you have a full load instead. Or at home, if your showers are 10 minutes long, set a timer for 7 minutes (or less) and make it a game for yourself. We need to rethink our relationship with water. I can understand why some people and businesses are wary and unsure. But if everybody pitches in every day of the year, we will get through this and we will be successful." 🔶 Nancy is a Regional Healthy Built Environment consultant for Island Health.
