I’m super happy to share some studio insides from my latest collaboration for the upcoming @fashionpositions 🖤 Danny Reinke × Manuela Karin Knaut ▪️This year at FASHION POSITIONS as part of POSITIONS art fair Berlin at Flughafen Tempelhof, Hangar 5-6, September 14-17, 2023. Danny Reinke grew up as the son of a fisherman in a small fishing village on the Stettiner Haff and has experienced from an early age how important sustainable craftsmanship is. Manuela Karin Knaut is an independent artist who acquired a Master of Arts in Fine Art at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. Her painterly work reflects the enthusiasm of the artist for travel, the discovery of new terrain and the inevitable leaving of her own comfort zone. Danny Reinke’s latest collection, „LUSTGARDEN“ showcased at the Berlin Fashion Week 2023 in July, was a mesmerising display of fashion inspired by the triptych „Garden of Earthly Delights“ by Dutch painter Hieronymus Bosch. The collection exuded a utopian dream-like atmosphere, depicting a love paradise where positive emotions carry the essence of sexuality. It successfully played with contradictions while symbolising gluttony and lust prevalent in today’s society. In collaboration with the artist Manuela Karin Knaut, an artwork was created only from leftover fabrics from the collection, which she painted and further developed. This collaboration is the center of the installation, which shows the “Lustgarden” in a modern way.
