A course diaries episode today all the way from the Loire Valley; Les Bordes. @lesbordesgc A place of mystique, now home to three courses. The Old Course was designed by Robert von Hagge in 1987, back when the estate was owned by biro and razor magnate Baron Marcel Bich. More recently following a change in ownership in 2018 , Gil Hanse was commissioned to build The New Course (as well as the extraordinary short course - 'The Wild Piglet') which opened to great fanfare and offers a completely different style of course, more akin to the heathlands of England or perhaps the fast running Carolina courses.
