𝙋𝙝𝙖𝙡𝙖𝙚𝙣𝙤𝙥𝙨𝙞𝙨 𝙫𝙞𝙤𝙡𝙖𝙘𝙚𝙖 𝙫. 𝙘𝙤𝙚𝙧𝙪𝙡𝙚𝙖 (𝙄𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙜𝙤 𝙩𝙮𝙥𝙚 𝙣𝙚𝙭𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙖 𝙩𝙮𝙥𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡) ••• 📍(𝘔𝘢𝘺𝘭𝘢𝘺𝘢 𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘶𝘭𝘢 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘚𝘶𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘢) ••• <<<<⚡️ 𝑪𝑼𝑳𝑻𝑼𝑹𝑨𝑳 𝑪𝑼𝑬𝑺 ⚡️>>>> ☀️ Bright- filtered light 💧 Frequently watered year a round 🌡️ Intermediate- Hot | Good air-movement is critical 🪴 Can be grown in pots or baskets but our preference is mounts ________________________________ 📝 Here is a great example of both ends of the 𝙋𝙝𝙖𝙡𝙖𝙚𝙣𝙤𝙥𝙨𝙞𝙨 𝙫𝙞𝙤𝙡𝙖𝙘𝙚𝙖 𝙫. 𝙘𝙤𝙚𝙧𝙪𝙡𝙚𝙖 spectrum 🌈 ••• Flowers that are typically purple/pink acheive this by a mixture of the naturally occuring red and blue pigment in the flower. A higher percentage either direction will acheive a stronger or lighter shade of pink or purple- just like a painter mixes colors 🎨 ••• Coerulea (or “Blue”) colored flowers happen if the red pigment is turned off and only the blue is expressed resulting in a shade of “Blue”, or what is usually seen as a “Bluish” lilac, violet, periwinkle etc. Great examples of coerulea can be found in the 𝙇𝙖𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙚 ••• After growing 𝙋𝙝𝙖𝙡. 𝙫𝙞𝙤𝙡𝙖𝙘𝙚𝙖 𝙫. 𝙘𝙤𝙚𝙧𝙪𝙡𝙚𝙖, you may notice the broad spectrum of shades that occur from seedling to seedling even within a sibling population. And when orchid growers select out the bluest (or darkest) colored flowers and breed these together, even darker, solid colored “Blues” are achieved. This is how we got the 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗼 𝘁𝘆𝗽𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗲𝗿𝘂𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀. Interestingly, color selection has been achieved on the red end of the spectrum also, with the “𝗠𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮” types 🤓 ••• It’s also worth pointing out- when seemingly new colors of species are achieved through human-selected breeding, these are not new varieties/forma (which are scientific terms) but should simply be referred to as a type or occurence. •••••• 𝙋𝙝𝙖𝙡. 𝙫𝙞𝙤𝙡𝙖𝙘𝙚𝙖 𝙫𝙖𝙧.
