🔱 Happy Mbira Month❣️ So the first writing session I ever had was with Chiwoniso. I was 9 🥰 and “The Mysteries of Love” is what we created. While this is my Eb mbira we wrote with my F# mbira and I really miss it. It was the gift my dad and Chi gave me for my 9th bday. A few years ago one of my siblings borrowed the F#.. and basically it never came back. My heart broke and I wrote less on my Eb Nyunga nyunga. That being said as I played this, I remembered writing with my late sister Chiedza, writing with Chiwoniso, writing Khameel’s Kick and the pure joy it brought me over and over again.. I vowed, in Durban, to love this mbira with the all my heart and reconnect with the passion it ignited in me more times than I could count.. 🤗 Please excuse my imperfect impromptu performance.
