A combination of three unusual scarabs: . 1. An ancient Egyptian glazed steatite scarab from the second intermediate period (1700-1550BC), which is the blue pendant in the image. It’s really a few thousand years old! . 2. A Victorian scarab beetle carapace lapel pin, which was very popular during the Napoleonic egyptomania period. These are real preserved insects that lasted more than a hundred years through taxidermy! Thanks to @connieluk_jewels for this cameo appearance. . 3. A contemporary carved scarab moonstone ring embellished with pink sapphires and seed pearls. All a part of my collection except the lapel pin! .
