TENGA SHIRA! epi 4, #BackToSchool When the kids walk in from school, it’s Assalamalaykum and then “what’s for dinner mummy!!” And when I say, it’s rice and curry, they respond with “ugh” but as soon as I say, “it’s TENGA” they run to the kitchen and grab a plate, because, after all this is the first curry, they love to eat when they begin to Wean! Because #MumsKnowBest 💁🏻‍♀️ Who needs sour sweets hey? Here is a really quick easy, delicious and healthy recipe , it helps your children eat lots of rice which means they are nicely satisfied after school. Enjoy the slurrrrp! Prep the rohu fish (use any): ☘️7 pieces steak, scaled ☘️1/2tsp each turmeric and salt Set aside. For the soup tenga base: ☘️3tbsp oil ☘️1/2 onion chopped ☘️1 bulb garlic grated ☘️4 bine tomatoes chopped ☘️1/2tsp turmeric ☘️1tsp coriander powder ☘️pinch of chilli ☘️3 cups water ☘️handful dried mango / aamshi ☘️raw mangos (I use frozen) ☘️2.5tsp salt ☘️fresh coriander esp stems ☘️handful Green chillis ☘️ juice of a lemon ☘️pinch sugar to balance the sourness 1. Fry onions and garlic in salt until sautéed 2 Add tomatoes until mush 3. Add spices cook for five mins. Mash everything till smooth 4. Add fish , cook five mins. 5. Add water, mangoes, chillis and coriander, slow simmer after boil, for 20 mins. 6.
