Aloha kakahiaka!  The latest eruption at Kilauea’s summit continues with vigorous activity within the caldera.  During our sunset overflight, we observed 6 vents fountaining on the downdropped block, building cones around each.  HVO estimates the height of these fountains to be between 30-50 feet high, and they feed flows moving north and westward across Halema‘uma‘u’s crusted floor.  These are images from our flight, and note the amazing textures of the lava’s surface!   As always, BIG MAHALOs to @calving.d (Cal Dorn) and @paradisehelicopters for their continued partnership in documenting our island’s volcanic activity!  They’re the absolute best in the business!  Mahalo nui also to @canonusa and @pro_camera_hawaii for their unwavering support!  And last but not least, mahalo to my bruddahs, @andrewrichardhara and @traceyniimi for the inflight non-stop comic relief! 🤣🤣 All images shot on Canon bodies and lenses. 😊 #lava #eruption #kilauea #hawaii #lavalove #lavajunkie #lavarocks #luckywelivehawaii #paradisehelicopters #gohawaii #powerofnature #lethawaiihappen #canon #teamcanon #procamerahawaii #extremeexposurefineartgallery
