At 4pm on this day 11 years ago, I walked down the aisle and married my soul mate, my best friend, the missing piece in my life that made me complete. We have had an incredible life together so far, with our fair share of ups and downs, longing for a family which we finally have completed. I walked down the aisle to this song “Bittersweet symphony” which is ironic cause with this day brings so much joy and then 4 years ago (just 6 weeks before our miracle double rainbow baby was born) at almost the same time as we walked down the aisle, I lost one of my best childhood friends to cancer after a lengthy battle. Her last words to me that morning were “please don’t worry about me, enjoy your anniversary, Im just sleeping, love you” and then she slipped into an unconscious state and passed away hours later. Fast forward to last year - and my beautiful little niece Indie was born on our anniversary and today she turns ONE. So to say that this day is bittersweet is an understatement, it comes with so much emotion and overwhelming feelings of joy and grief all at once. But I guess that’s this roller coaster we call life right. . I have a strong connection to the number 11, and being our 11th wedding anniversary, I can only hope it is a sign of an amazing year ahead. I can’t wait to see what unfolds and the positives that come out of this year for our little fam. .
