Today, I am proud to show my bare face even if I still have insecurities around it. I used to wear makeup to hide my insecurities. When in actuality, makeup is supposed to enhance our beauty, not hide our real faces. So I decided to work on giving my insecurities love and stop trying to get rid of it. They are allowed to exist within me together with my strength and confidence. Hiding brings on shame and what’s so shameful about insecurities and imperfections when the whole world has them too? Maybe instead of trying to be perfect, I can embrace my connection to the world. I’m realizing that there’s no confidence without insecurities. They both equally deserve my love, only then can they live together harmoniously. I hope we all learn to love our insecurities - because only love can heal. P.S. people think healing means no longer having pain. But healing is having peace with or without pain. I wish us all love and peace.
