🌿💜 Some facts about Lakota Made LLC: - We are solely owned by Megan L. Schnitker, a Sicangu Lakota enrolled member - We are (just about to turn!) four years old - All of our products are made in-house, with the exception of our print-on-demand clothing, at our retail location 606 North Riverfront Drive, Mankato - Our products are made by hand in small batches then labeled and shipped or sold right from our store - We are the FIRST Lakota-owned small business in Old Town Mankato, which is just a couple blocks from the Dakota 38+2 hanging site ( https://youtu.be/bp_5ZlZELWE) For Indigenous people, this is history in the making as we have been forcefully removed from this area after the executions took place. Many Indigenous people felt threatened to be here. Since we've made our presence in Mankato, we have been told by the Indigenous community that we have shown them work has been done to educate, repair, and rebuild relationships between the community and Indigenous peoples. Mankato is really an amazing community to be apart of! - We recycle all of our bottles, jars, soap bags, etc! Customers either send back or drop off their used containers and we put them back into circulation - We strive to be as eco-friendly as possible by also recycling our packing! Plus, we take packing materials from others in the surrounding communities to keep it out of the landfills!
