A decade with my very best friend ♥️ 10 years ago today, September 14th of 2013, I arrived at the New Britain Animal Control in Connecticut to meet an approximately 3 month old puppy who had been abandoned in a nearby playground, was suffering from mange and a staph infection, and was meant to be my newest foster dog. A dog I would presumably just foster and take care of until she was healthy enough to be placed up for adoption. However, I left the shelter with more than a foster dog that day, I left with my #souldog. It felt only fitting on the 10 year anniversary of Bug’s Gotcha Day that I re-share this viral video and audio of ours from last year that perfectly describes all of the ways in which she is so much more than just a dog or just a pet. She’s my very best friend, and my absolute heart and soul.
